Standards & Decorum
This is not a public free-speech zone. We are controlled by a number of restrictions–some legal, some by public standards, and some by convention. So let’s reserve ad hominem attacks (ie., name calling) for some other location. Perhaps your MySpace page or some other forum as such. And let’s try to keep the level of articulation high this is an academic blog after all.
I generally encourage passion in all students–without it we are mere apathetic place-holders. But we must never let our passions rule us, they rob us of our Reason, the very thing which makes us human.
For your general information I have posted the 10 basic rules of Netiquette below. Please take a moment to review so that you may be reminded of the high standards we intend to keep.

* Rule 2: Adhere to the same standards of behavior online that you follow in real life
* Rule 3: Know where you are in cyberspace
* Rule 4: Respect other people’s time and bandwidth
* Rule 5: Make yourself look good online

* Rule 7: Help keep flame wars under control
* Rule 8: Respect other people’s privacy
* Rule 9: Don’t abuse your power
* Rule 10: Be forgiving of other people’s mistakes

Hey, one thing i liked last week was the “Dumbest thing I ever did” essay. I wrote about the time that I slipped down a mountain and scarred my knee up. That is all.
